My Story was never a moral crusade; a true crime saga is now chronicled and readable

I don’t believe we can keep blaming faceless entities to avoid personal accountability. That approach solves nothing. My position has never been about defending corporations. I accept they exist as part of how things currently work. What I reject is the idea that we can’t name the specific decisions, the specific people, and the specific policies that produce failure. When hundreds of individuals choose short-term comfort over their actual responsibilities, the result looks like some grand conspiracy. It isn’t. It’s just a lot of people making the same comfortable choice.

 A Cautionary Tale is not a book about one pipeline company.It is a record of what happens when engineers, regulators, lawyers, and executives each make one small decision to look the other way. The result doesn’t look like crime. It looks like normal operations.This book shows how that version of “normal” was built; with primary documents, names, and engineering evidence that three U.S. oversight institutions currently treat as active forensic material. It’s written by an engineer, but readable by anyone who wants to understand what actually happened.

AUTHOR NOTE: I wrote a 300-page Master of Science thesis. I know exactly how to write a formal academic paper with proper footnotes and references. That is not how I wrote this book. I deliberately stripped away the academic formatting because that style is often used to bury uncomfortable facts in plain sight. I wrote this book to put the reader directly in the room with the evidence. Reads like fiction but its true and far grittier than a pulp fiction novel.
